INTERLAKEN

I've always heard Switzerland was beautiful, but boy were they right!  I decided to go to Interlaken for my one stop through Switzerland.  I just googled beautiful cities in Switzerland and voila!  I saw it and had to go there!  Boy were they right again!  It was gorgeous even on the train before getting there.  I bet the guy sitting across the aisle from me thought I was glamour shotting his ass.  He was cute, but sorry I was trying to catch the snow capped mountains over the river!!

I knew when I stepped off that train it would be gorgeous.  But it still blew me away.  The freshness in the air and the birds chirping, it was like I was on another planet. 

If you haven't heard, Switzerland is EXPENSIVE!  Well, according to my normal standards of living.  Connecting through Zurich I paid $15 for a friggin Burger King combo meal!  And in Interlaken I paid $20 for a Thai chicken green curry dish!  Those would have been $6 and $10, respectively!  Thank God I saved on my lodging in Interlaken.  Backpackers Villa was awesome!

Ok so back to how beautiful Interlaken is!  This has to be one of the cutest town on the planet! 

I chose not to spend a lot of time here, because I did not come to hike, mountain climb, hang glide, bungee jump or sky dive.  But if you want to do any of those things stay in Interlaken for a few days!  I just stayed 2 nights.  My free day I chose to walk around and take a tram up to this very high viewpoint.  It was so breathtaking. 

 

I cant explain to you enough how surreal this town is.  The peace and ease that you see and feel is unreal.  But the bite you pay at the cashier is real.  :)  Come with an open mind and wallet and you will be just fine!

If you are ever in Switzerland, or are passing through please allow one day to come see this majestic town!  You will never forget it!
