ISCHIA

Ischia was the last stop on my month long backpacking trip through Europe.  I wanted to go somewhere beautiful, relaxing and warm.  And island off Italy sounded perfect!

Unfortunately, half of my time in Ischia was rainy and cloudy.  It made perfect time however for me to update my blog, have some nice meals and relax.  I actually had more vegetables at my hotel in Ischia than I think I did in my whole month in Europe!

I chose to walk around one afternoon when the weather cleared up...

Ischia reminded me a lot of Puerto Rico.  Beautiful island with lush green mountains, and tons of little cars zipping around everywhere!

Thankfully my last day in Ischia was sunny and hot.  I really wanted to lay by the pool and do nothing, but I wanted to take advantage of this "awesome view point" I was told about while I was there.  No more relaxing for me.  This hike was tough!  Or maybe I was just out of shape!  Ha!  It was great exercise and I was exhausted!  Pretty cool view, too.

My time in Ischia was limited, especially with poor weather, but I made the best of it.  For Italians this seems like a lovely weekend getaway.  I however wasn't that impressed, especially with having so many tropical options at my fingertips being based in the states.  They did have amazing flowers here though.  :)

I wouldn't say DON'T check out Ischia....  But I know next time I am in France or Italy I will be on Mediterranean!  :)
